Luang Prabang, Laos, November 2010

What I did…

We ate at an all you can eat veggie market, watched the most amazing sunset over the mountains and then booked a Kayaking trip. Me, Scriv, Gaz, Jase and Ed all booked up and had the funniest Kayak trip. We made it down river to a waterfall where we dived in off the top into a pool where Elephants were trekking people about. Back on the river me and scriv thought it would be funny to attack Gaz and Jase on their Kayak and drag them into the water. Gaz survived the 1st attack but Jase did not! Gaz tried his own little fight back but failed miserably and ended up in the water, me and Scriv still in our Kayak but we kinda broke it over the rapids and we slowly started to sink! It took us at least 10 minutes to drain all the water out of our Kayak and back on our way with another attack in mind. This time we were just going to rugby tackle them both off taking us all into the water. Another perfectly executed maneuver!

Ed was in a Kayak with a random dude that was slightly bigger than all of us so we decided it would be wise to leave them alone, well, kinda… he was not impressed after Me, Scriv, Jase and Gaz soaked them both! Aaahhh he must love the English even more now!

We then made our way back on a 7 hour bus journey to Vientiene (sick of that place now!) and booked our ticket out of there the same day. The 24 hour bus journey to Vietnam!

After catching a very bumpy and long train from the border between Brazil and Bolivia we arrived in Santa Cruz knowing time wasn’t on our side. We caught a taxi to the centre and found a cheap hostel with some dodgy beds and set about finding breakfast. We found a mercado (market) that was, on […]
