What I did…
To make it from Ko Chang to Patong I was going to take on the longest journey I have ever attempted in my life. It started with a minibus from my beach hut in Ko Chang to the ferry port. After waiting for the ferry for over a hour we make our way to the mainland. We make our way up to Bangkok in the same minibus and get dropped off on Kho San. Taxi straight from Kho San to the train station and then got my ticket on the night train to Surat Thani. Train to Surat Thani and I thought id missed my stop! Lucky the train was running late! After an other wait in Surat Thani for the bus to Phucket town we eventually set off at 9am and got to Phucket around 3pm. A 2km walk to the local bus station and the local bus to Patong. Eventually getting to Patong around 4pm. All in all I traveled over 32 hours in one go and covered over 1,200km.
Met the lads at the hotel and had a few beers round the pool, I needed them after that journey! We all got showered and then headed out for some local food round the corner from our place. We all decided to walk off the Choc Chip Sunday’s and go in search of a few beers. We ended up having a few 241 cocktails before a stroll back down the beach. Cliff brought a lantern that we set off and watched until it was out of sight. Me and Skitt went on the seesaw, which he used all his weight to knock me off it into the bar in the middle! Massive kids!
Got the lads all on the idea of getting motorbikes the next day and had a funny adventure around the island of Phucket. We went in search of some beaches, less people the better. We found 3 of the best beaches Ive ever been on in my life! Me and Ad raced off and Cliff got lost at the back of the group. We all found each other again and went in search of Cliff. He eventually finds us after taking a few wrong turns. We headed back to the hostel and the lads went to McDonald’s, me and Ad decided to use the bikes and headed off into the mountains to find some local food. Had the best chicken Ive had for a long time. Fell to pieces! The views of the bay weren’t bad either! Got back and hit some more bars, including the Ice Bar where Skitt threw his Ice Glass on the floor, me thinking he threw an actual shot glass on the floor!
We all got up early the next day to make our way to Koh Phi Phi…
