Fireworks display Singapore, Chinese New Year 2011!

May 15, 2011 by Jack Leave a Comment

Singapore had a lot of making up to do after the police detained me for over 2 hours at the border. I’m sure you have read what happened, but if not have a read here.

To be honest Chinese New Year was not quite what I expected. I expected to have a new year a little more like a western new year. Drinking and partying to the early hours of the morning. This new year was different as we had nothing to drink and it rained most of the night (not that western new years are always dry!).

The rain did not dampen the spirits down in Singapore harbour though. There was a huge stage with dancers and well, a lot of people talking Chinese. My Chinese is a little rusty in the fact that I know 2 phrases and one is Happy New Year! I have uploaded the video to youTube but also embedded it below for you all to check out. Enjoy. If you can’t see this video here, try watching on youTube.
