Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay

June 15, 2014 by Jack Leave a Comment

After a boat journey from hell we got off to beautiful weather in Colonia. It wasn’t just raining, it was hammering it down. Luckily the hostel was a short 3 blocks walk from the port.

It didn’t really stop raining for 3 days straight but mixed it up a little with plenty of thunder and lightning. Stuck inside for the most part, but when we did get outside as the storms eased off or stopped we had a walk around.

It’s a very nice little town but there really isn’t much to do or see. It’s the perfect place to recharge the batteries for a few days if you want some peace and quiet but apart from that it’s not really a place to shout about however nice and quaint it is.

Copa del Mundo!!!

It began here. We watched the opening game with a Brazilian guy who fed us up on beer at the start of the game and every time that Brazil scored a fresh litre of beer was cracked open and everyones glasses recharged. It’s safe to say after all the beer we were well on our way to enjoying the World Cup!
