La Bomba de Tiempo

July 3, 2014 by Jack 1 Comment

Recommended by pretty much everyone including the guide books yet it still didn’t disappoint. Normally when a lot of people big something up to you it can sometimes turn out to be a little dull or not live up to your expectations.

La Bomba however was exactly what I was expecting. Drums galore with a few little extras thrown in for good measure.

The most interesting fact about this is the leader of the group, Santiago Vasques, has developed over 100 hand, finger and body signals to direct the various parts of the group at the same time. Unbelievable!

On the whole it’s a high tempo drum fest that does not let up for the whole almost 2 hours it’s on. Well worth the money to go and check it out at the Konex Cultural Center in Buenos Aires.

This is just a little taste of what they have to offer. The first video is the opening part and the second video is part way through the performance.
