O.M.G. Heaven. Need I say more?
So I went to a Churrascaria (name of the type of restaurant) in Porto Alegre, Brazil for the first time the other day. They basically offer a buffet that you never have to get out of your seat for. Churrasco is a Portuguese term for barbecued meat, traditionally, I’m told, only cooked with salt added but trust me, it needs nothing more.
They set out on the table potato salad, pickles, salads, rice, cassava fries which are all refilled for you as soon as your table is low. Then comes the meat. Oh the meat. Non stop meat is brought to the table on huge skewers each time asking if you want what they had. Then the next person comes along with something different.
Sausages, steaks, chicken hearts, chicken quarters, pork, duck and probably a few others that escape my mind.
Topped off with a peach ice tea (or 3) it was almost the perfect meal. Meat, salad and a variety of different sides, what could be better?
