Ko Chang (New Year), Thailand, December 2010

What I did…

On New Years Eve I saw an upturned fruit truck on the way to Ko Chang with many Thai guys around it crying. I can only assume the driver did not fair too well. Not a good start to the New Year period! Got to Ko Chang and got into my room with Ed and Marcus. We headed down to the beach and chilled out playing bat and ball until sunset. We all headed for an All You Can Eat buffet and managed 3 huge plate fulls while sipping on a few beers.

We all headed to the beach to bring in New Year with beers and buckets. At midnight we all had to eat 12 grapes for Spanish tradition. We all danced around until the early hours of the morning and tried to watch the sunrise. It was on the other side of the island so we all headed to bed around 7am.

After not drinking too much the night before I spent the whole of New Years Day in bed feeling very ill. I managed to eat a bag of crisps all day! Not a nice way to spend the 1st day of 2011!

Next morning I was up bright and early for my trip to the Islands, via Bangkok (again!), to meet the lads from back home… Find out next what happened in Phucket and Patong…

After catching a very bumpy and long train from the border between Brazil and Bolivia we arrived in Santa Cruz knowing time wasn’t on our side. We caught a taxi to the centre and found a cheap hostel with some dodgy beds and set about finding breakfast. We found a mercado (market) that was, on […]
